Check your device

Check both the chip and RAM. The current Apple route requires Metal 3-capable hardware and at least 6 GB RAM. Supported A14–A16 devices need an extra Legacy Device Pack; A14 with 6 GB remains unverified. Apple silicon Macs have their own native app. Operating-system version determines a separate choice between the default and older-API build.

Read the status correctly

Supported means the upstream documentation lists the configuration as playable. Extra step means the hardware also needs a matching Legacy Device Pack. Unverified means the minimum specifications are not enough to infer that a player has completed the route. Experimental is not a beginner-ready release.

The table is a dated source review, not our own device test lab. Check the upstream table again when using a newer app version.

iPhone compatibility

Model Relevant hardware Current status Additional requirement
iPhone 16 Pro / Pro Max A18 Pro, 8 GB Supported upstream Standard resources
iPhone 16 / 16 Plus A18, 8 GB Supported upstream Standard resources
iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max A17 Pro, 8 GB Supported upstream Standard resources
iPhone 15 / 15 Plus A16, 6 GB Extra step Legacy Device Pack
iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max A16, 6 GB Extra step; documented player tests Legacy Device Pack
iPhone 14 / 14 Plus A15, 6 GB Extra step Legacy Device Pack
iPhone 13 Pro / Pro Max A15, 6 GB Extra step; community play reports Legacy Device Pack
iPhone 13 / 13 mini A15, 4 GB Unsupported RAM limit
iPhone 12 Pro / Pro Max A14, 6 GB Unverified Pack required if attempting; no verified report in current table
iPhone 12 / 12 mini A14, 4 GB Unsupported RAM limit
iPhone 11 and earlier A13 or earlier Unsupported Hardware capability limit

An iPhone model absent from this table is not automatically unsupported or supported. Follow its exact chip/RAM row in the current upstream documentation; do not infer support from the marketing name alone.

iPad and Mac

M1–M4 iPads covered by the upstream table have at least 8 GB RAM and the standard texture path. The iPad mini with A17 Pro also uses standard resources. The 6 GB iPad mini 6 with A15 needs the Legacy Device Pack.

The A14 iPad Air 4 has only 4 GB RAM and is unsupported. A12X/A12Z iPad Pros and A13-era devices are not exceptions to the hardware requirement.

The native Mac app requires Apple silicon. Intel Macs are not supported by this route. A community standalone Mac package is designed to run without the source checkout, but a locally built app may still depend on its original workspace. See the Mac guide before moving an app or deleting build files.

Apple TV is experimental and is not included as a first-edition installation route. Android has separate community development; Apple support labels do not transfer to Android chips.

Choose the OS build separately

Device OS Build to look for
iOS / iPadOS 26+ Default iOS build
iOS / iPadOS 18–25 Older-API build, often labelled ios18
macOS 26+ Default Mac build
macOS 15–25 Older-API Mac build, often labelled macos15 or M3

Here M3 in a build name means the Metal 3 API route, not “only for the Apple M3 processor.” Read the package's actual release notes rather than choosing it by chip name.

The older-API route aims to retain the same rendering and features. It is not a workaround for insufficient RAM or an unsupported GPU.

Understand the extra texture pack

A14–A16 Apple GPUs do not have the hardware BC-texture support used by the standard game assets. The upstream solution converts textures into ASTC on your own computer and installs an additional Legacy Device Pack alongside the normal game resources.

Two parts must match: the pack on the device and the pack metadata included when the app was built. Merely copying a random pack onto a standard app is not enough. Follow the upstream generation instructions or your chosen build path's supported equivalent.

  • Supplementary Pack Required: supply the complete matching pack in the app folder.
  • One More Step for This Device: the app was built without the required supplementary-pack metadata. Rebuild or repackage with the matching pack; copying files onto the phone alone does not fix this message.
  • This Device Is Not Supported: the graphics chip does not support the required Metal 3 features. This is different from missing pack metadata; copying a texture pack does not add GPU features.

What about frame rate?

Upstream reports include 60 FPS on some devices and 30 FPS mode on an older tested iPhone. Scene complexity, resolution, temperature and app revision matter. We do not turn these reports into a universal performance guarantee.

Likewise, the long first-launch shader-preparation step belongs to the no-Xcode shell route. It is not required by every package: the Xcode and reviewed community workflows precompile Metal shaders.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the standard iPhone 13 or 13 mini play?

Not according to the current upstream support table. Although the chip is A15, these models have only 4 GB RAM. They must not be confused with the 6 GB iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, which have community play reports with the Legacy Device Pack.

Does installing iOS 26 remove the need for a Legacy Device Pack?

No. The pack addresses a chip's texture-format capability. The older-API build addresses the operating system. An iPhone 14 Pro on iOS 26 still needs the pack; an iPhone 15 Pro on iOS 18 needs the older-API build but not the pack.

Are these this website's benchmark results?

No. These labels summarize upstream documentation and community reports reviewed on the stated date. We have not independently tested these devices, and supported does not guarantee a fixed frame rate in every scene.
