# D2R Mobile Guide — LLM Knowledge Base Manifest > An independent D2R Mobile installation handbook for iPhone, iPad and Mac, with device compatibility, troubleshooting and Android port updates. - Last Reviewed: 2026-10-17 - Upstream Repository: https://github.com/d2r-mobile/d2r-mobile - License Notice: Independent documentation. Diablo II: Resurrected is a registered trademark of Blizzard Entertainment. Requires legitimately dumped Nintendo Switch game files (v1.0.34.0 / 3.3.94012). Offline single-player only. ## Technical Architecture Summary D2R Mobile does NOT use CPU emulation or dynamic binary translation (JIT). Modern Apple silicon devices and the Nintendo Switch both run on 64-bit ARM (ARM64). The d2r-mobile runner offline-patches supervisor calls and memory pointers to execute the original game binary natively on the hardware CPU. Graphics shaders are translated ahead-of-time to Apple Metal Shading Language. ## Documentation Index & Chapters - [Handbook Home](https://d2rmobileguide.com/): Overview, hardware tier selection, and core rules. - [Start with the right install route](https://d2rmobileguide.com/start-here): D2R Mobile is an independent open-source compatibility project for playing the Switch edition of Diablo II: Resurrected offline on compatible Apple devices. You need your own game files; a clean shell is not a playable app. Check the device table, choose a build for your operating system, then follow one installation route. Android currently has experimental community work, not a stable release verified by this site. - [Before you install](https://d2rmobileguide.com/guides/prerequisites): The documented target is the Switch release of Diablo II: Resurrected at version 1.0.34.0, including Reign of the Warlock. You need your own ExeFS program files for packaging and RomFS resources for gameplay. The internal tool identifier 3.3.94012 refers to this same version. PC game files are not a substitute. - [Set up iPhone & iPad](https://d2rmobileguide.com/guides/ios-install): This guide covers compiling and installing D2R Mobile onto iPhone or iPad using Xcode on macOS or pre-built shells via sideloading. It explains build flags for iOS 26+ versus iOS 18–25, transferring the 18 resource files, and first-launch shader behavior. - [Set up an Apple silicon Mac](https://d2rmobileguide.com/guides/mac-install): D2R Mobile compiles into a native macOS desktop application on Apple Silicon Macs. This guide covers building for macOS 26+ versus macOS 15–25, working directory dependencies, resource selection, save locations, and upstream-documented keyboard/mouse mappings. - [Package an IPA on Windows](https://d2rmobileguide.com/guides/windows-build): Assemble a playable D2R Mobile iOS package on Windows 10 or 11 without a Mac or Xcode. Using official release shells, your legally owned Switch game files, and source-built SPIRV-Cross, the d2rm_pack.py tool produces an unsigned IPA ready for sideloading. - [Build with GitHub Actions](https://d2rmobileguide.com/guides/cloud-build): The community project jiayx/d2r-mobile-build can compile iOS and macOS packages on GitHub Actions. This is an advanced alternative to local packaging: it needs version-matched prepared inputs derived from your own game files. Keep those inputs and resulting game-containing packages private. We have reviewed the workflow documentation, not run a game build ourselves. - [Touch & controller basics](https://d2rmobileguide.com/guides/controllers-and-touch): D2R Mobile translates multi-touch input into native gamepad events and direct UI interactions using an internal state machine. This guide details real touch gestures across menus, combat, and inventory panels, HUD overlay integration, and physical gamepad connectivity on iOS and Mac. - [Save files & backups](https://d2rmobileguide.com/guides/save-games): D2R Mobile stores offline characters, shared stash files, and custom mod data in a dedicated save folder on iOS and macOS. This guide provides exact filesystem paths, manual transfer steps between devices, iCloud signing requirements, and rules to prevent save deletion during 7-day sideload renewals. - [Check your device](https://d2rmobileguide.com/compatibility): Check both the chip and RAM. The current Apple route requires Metal 3-capable hardware and at least 6 GB RAM. Supported A14–A16 devices need an extra Legacy Device Pack; A14 with 6 GB remains unverified. Apple silicon Macs have their own native app. Operating-system version determines a separate choice between the default and older-API build. - [Fix common setup problems](https://d2rmobileguide.com/troubleshooting): This reference addresses the most common installation and runtime errors encountered in D2R Mobile, including missing 18 RomFS resource archives, A14–A16 ASTC Legacy Device Pack requirements, first-launch shader compilation conditions, 6 GB memory thresholds, and JIT misconceptions. - [Can you play on Android yet?](https://d2rmobileguide.com/android): Android development exists: dodola and vickwv maintain experimental work, and vickwv documents gameplay on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phone. That is not the same as a stable, supported release. We have not verified a consumer-ready APK in the reviewed repositories, and we have not tested the game on an Android device ourselves. - [Source projects & useful tools](https://d2rmobileguide.com/resources): This is a directory of source projects and their own documentation, not a game-download page. Start with the upstream repository, select the route for your device, and get signing or build tools from their original maintainers. Source tags, clean shells, prepared inputs and completed IPAs are different artifacts. - [Versions & review notes](https://d2rmobileguide.com/updates): During this guide's October 17 source review, v1.0.17 was the newest upstream source tag checked, while GitHub's latest-Release endpoint still resolved to v1.0.1. These are different signals, not interchangeable download recommendations. A community build also has its own build number and input requirements. - [An independent handbook](https://d2rmobileguide.com/about): D2R Mobile Guide is an independent installation handbook maintained by @0xdcc. It is not the D2R Mobile project, Blizzard Entertainment, or an official download service. We organize primary documentation into device decisions, installation routes and troubleshooting, with a clear boundary between source review and physical device testing. - [Privacy & site terms](https://d2rmobileguide.com/privacy): D2R Mobile Guide is an independent documentation handbook. We do not collect personal data, store tracking cookies, or run third-party advertising scripts. We do not distribute copyrighted game binaries, textures, or decryption keys. ## Device Compatibility Baseline - Supported without extra steps: Apple A17 Pro (iPhone 15 Pro), A18/A18 Pro (iPhone 16 series), and all Apple Silicon M-series (M1/M2/M3/M4) iPads and Macs. - Legacy Device Pack required: supported A14–A16 devices with at least 6 GB RAM. iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max, iPhone 14 series and iPhone 15/15 Plus are examples. A14 with 6 GB remains unverified. Base iPhone 13/13 mini has only 4 GB and is unsupported. - Android: experimental community forks by dodola and vickwv; developer gameplay reports on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. No stable consumer release verified by this guide. - Unsupported: A13 and earlier, A12X/A12Z iPads and devices with only 4 GB RAM. Hardware and RAM requirements must both be met. All support labels describe upstream documentation, not this site’s physical testing.
